Highland Medical Aesthetics was started in November 2022 by Board Certified Nurse Practitioner, Sara Courtney who combined her complementary medical background in emergency medicine and plastic into her love of aesthetic medicine.
We offer an array of non-invasive treatments including Botox, Dermal Filler, Hydrafacial, Morpheus8, and more.
In addition, we offer skin care treatments such as dermaplaning, facials, microneedling (SkinPen), chemical peels and platelet-rich plasma treatments for skin regeneration. We offer ZO Skin Health for daily, medical grade skincare.

Founder/Nurse Practitioner
Sara is a multi-state, dual-board certified nurse practitioner with formal, hands-on training in basic and advanced toxin and dermal filler procedures, skin care and laser therapy. She received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Southern Miss, Bachelor’s in Nursing from Mississippi University for Women, and her doctorate in nursing practice (DNP) from Samford University in Birmingham, AL. Her medical background is diverse, including plastic surgery, emergency medicine, critical care and urgent care. Sara serves in the Air National Guard as a flight nurse, enhancing her assessment skills and problem-solving in difficult situations. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.

Aesthetician
Kayla is from right here in central Mississippi. She moved to Virginia in 2016, got married and had a sweet baby girl. She has recently moved back to Mississippi with her new little family and is continuing her aesthetics career right here in Flowood, Mississippi.
Kayla has always been into anything makeup and skin care growing up, but says her grandfather actually inspired her to completely dive into the world of aesthetics after a tough bout with skin cancer from years of prolonged sun damage.
“I knew I wanted to learn more and help people with their skin and how they feel in it, educate them on how to protect it and help them recover after going through certain procedures/treatments.”

When she’s not obsessing over skin, you’ll find Kayla with her daughter or family. Doing anything and everything with her tiny human is what makes her most happy in the world.
A fun fact about Kayla: “Music was pretty much my entire life growing up. I played three instruments, and then switched primarily to dance and color guard. I went on a national tour with Drum Corp International for two summers in a row, and that is actually where I met my husband!”

Esthetician
Jade originally hails from West Monroe, Louisiana but moved to Madison, Mississippi 8 years ago. With 3 step brothers and 2 step sisters, Jade found passion and solitude in all things skin – so it was only right that she entered aesthetics school right away at the Mississippi Institute of Cosmetology and Aesthetics.
“My mom used to work as a rep for Clinique and put me on my very first regimen when I was 10. She taught me what skin care meant and how important it was to keep my skin healthy.”
Our social butterfly is passionate about helping clients feel confident in their skin and overall appearance when they look in the mirror. Jade also appreciates getting to learn and experience new people and personalities.
When Jade’s not giving you the best facial of your life (right here in Flowood, Mississippi), she loves hanging out with her girls, catching a episode of The Treatment Room and cooking. Some might say Jade is living the life!
Jade’s goals for the future are BIG and BRIGHT – she is planning to pursue a certification in permanent makeup so that one day she can be an Oncology Aesthetician and help patients undergoing chemotherapy.
